SONG

Published by jacobzilla under Uncategorized

This would and probably represented the last couple of chapter of the book. It showed how evil and not fair the court was to us and the people. It just to show how bad it really was back in the days and how it judges by the color, not by the reason. I felt sorry for Tom for being like that and felt really sad. What was worse the poor guy was sent to prison, then tried to get away. Instead of catching him, he gets shot 17 times to make sure that the guy dies and not come back to life.

No group or race of people
Should ever rule the world
The end of white supremacy
The fall of the KKK and nazism
A human dream come true
The end of white supremacy
I’ve talked about racism
For years and years
But you still don’t learn
It is wrong to hate
Another human being
Because of color or country
They were born
Now I’m going to become
A threat to your lies
Equality and interacial love
Is the answer to save our world
The end of white supremacy

This was probably one of the saddest chapters that I have ever read. I thought that Tom would of won the contest/ or the court. Then in the end they chose the side of the white and made the poor guy lose. Ii made made mad and confused to see how cruel the world really is, felt so sorry for the guy who did nothing at all to get what he deserved. It was good at the same time, it made Jem more resbonsible and become more mature than what he was before the court. So he then later wanted another court to save Tom. In the end they shot the guy 17 times for escaping and making sure that he was already dead.

Quote 21-25

Published by Xjhanee (: under Uncategorized

Chapter 21-25

“A jury never looks at a defendant it has convicted, and when this jury came in, not one of them looked at Tom Robison.” (211)

I believe that the trial Tom Robinson was put through was a bunch of bolognoa, Atticus brought very good proof of why he shouldn’t be convicted, and the jury basicallly didn’t care. Tom’s reason for guilty was because of his race,  and for that reason he shouldn’t have even been given a trial if it was going to be based off of that. I was also just a waste of time, for everyone. Tom for getting his hopes up, Atticus’ hard work and time, and etc. I assumed that the book will have a happy ending and maybe Tom wouldn’t be convicted of rape, but I guess not.

THIS SONG (17-20)

Published by jacobzilla under Uncategorized

I like sugar, and I like tea
But I don’t like niggers…no siree!
There’s two known things that’ll make me puke
And that’s a hog eatin’ slop, and a big, black spook!

You know it…cause I show it
Like a barn-yard rooster I crow it!
And the NAACP
Would sure like to get a-hold of nigger-hatin’ me!

Roses are red, and violet’s are blue
And nigger’s are black, you know that’s true
But they don’t mind, cause what the heck!
You gotta be black to get a welfare check!

And I’m broke…no joke
I ain’t got a nickel for a coke!
And I ain’t black, you see
So Uncle Sam won’t help poor nigger-hatin’ me.

Jig-A-Boo, jig-a-boo…where are you?
I’s here in the woodpile…watchin’ you
Jig-A-Boo, jig-a-boo…come out!
No! Cause I’m scared of the white man’s a-way down South

You know it!…cause I show it.
Stick your black head out and I’ll blow it!
And the NAACP
Can’t keep you away from little old nigger-hatin’ me!

Mirror, mirror…on the wall
Who is the blackest of them all?
A man named King, and there ain’t no doubt
That he’s causin’ lots of trouble with his baboon mouth.

Brewin’…he’s a doin’
It’s caused by the trouble he’s a-brewin’
And the NAACP
Can’t win if the white men stick with nigger-hatin’ me!

Hey! Mr. President! What do you say?
When are we whites gonna have our day?
The nigger’s had there’s such a long, long time
I’m white, and it’s time that I had mine!

You know it…cause I show it!
Stick your black head out and I’ll blow it!
And the NAACP
Can’t win if the white man sticks with nigger-hatin’ me!

Woohoo!!! ANOTHER GREAT SONG IS ON!! This song definitely matches this chapter. It shows and represents on how racist and cruel people are in the story. It showed that we were a bunch of liars and stoopid people. After listening to this song, it made me realize how lame it was and how gay it was that they blamed Tom. We all knew the dad was a pedophile and called his daughter a whore. So we were really stupid back then and only knew to hate the colored people. But I do think that this song is a match for all of you racist people!

Choppin’ the wood 17-20

Published by itztehjerick under Uncategorized

Mayella must have thought she was sneaky or something. Good thing Tom Robinson was proven innocent, or else Atticus probably would have been shunned EVEN MORE from society. She totally FAILED when she had the bruise on the wrong side of her face (hahah). Obviously, Tom Robinson couldn’t have hit you with his disabled arm, unless he back handed you, and that back-hand had better be strong enough to leave a bruise, because of how stupid she was. This whole situation wasn’t exactly fair for Tom Robinson. A whole white jury. Talk about harsh. So, back then black people were known for making crimes, which doesn’t help Tom at all, and if that wasn’t enough, Mayella goes for the “crying” tactic, by saying that the whole jury would be a bunch of fools for not arresting him. In the future Tom, make sure the door is broken before entering the building.

Liar, Liar, Pants on Fire. (17-20)

Published by Xjhanee (: under Uncategorized

Chapter 17-20 was about Robinson and Ewell case, how Mr. Robinson, went over the Ewell’s to do some yard work, and supposedly touched and beat the Bob Ewell’s oldest daughter Mayella. In the Disney Classic Pinocchio, whenever he lies his nose grows; and to me Pinocchio represents the whole trial, because everyone lied about something. Mayella lied about who really beat her and touched her, and also Mr. Ewell lied about that as well, and Mr. Tate just tagged along to cover up the truth. No one told the real truth about the incident, and they are taking a big risk of an innocent man facing jail time or possibly, being lynched.

I SMELL PANTS ON FIRE

Published by jacobzilla under Uncategorized

First of all, I never read a book with so much racist people and racist remarks. They probably just want Tom to get arrested and beaten, because he is black. They only let black people sit in the balcony and not even close to the court room. I think that the dad was the one who beat down the daughter and didn’t want to call the cops. He said that it was too expensive to call the hospital and said couldn’t afford it. Every single one of them believed and said that it was all Ton’s fault and that they saw him rape, then saw him run away. While I was eating my cereal, I was thinking, “What a bunch of bull”. If I was Tom I would have just attacked the man and killed him. If you knew that the whole jury was white, I wouldn’t care anymore and just kill the man. I would get mad for getting blamed, so I would have snapped his neck or kicked him at least. It chapter made me laugh so much and how unfair it was for the fellow black man. I think he is going to die or be arrested, because he’s black.

Court (17-20)

Published by Xjhanee (: under Uncategorized

Reading about the court trial was very entertaining in many ways, people trying to come with lies after lies, and how racism plays a big part in whether your guilty or not. First off, Atticus is a very good defense lawyer; he brought out some great points like why was the right side of her face bruised when there was something wrong with Tom Robinson’s left hand. Tom Robinson should have also been aware of the consequences of his actions, meaning he should have not gone over Mayella’s house in the first place, just because she asked him to do some chores that was his first mistake. When he entered the house discovered that the door was broke, all the children were gone, and didn’t leave second mistake. After Mayella pushed herself on him, he should have left, but her dad saw them together, so that could have been used against him in court. Mayella on the other hand, is a very bad liar, everyone in the town knows that Mayella is lonely, abused, and also unhappy daughter, and Bob Ewell her father is a drunk, so why couldn’t the court put that together and figure out that. Bob Ewell, the drunk beat his daughter, and she wasn’t raped. That’s just made me mad, how an innocent man who did not do anything to anybody, is being convicted of rape and faces possibly being lynched. The author came with a good cliff hanger at the end when Calpurnia comes into the courtroom, It keep me wondering would she say something so that Atticus could win the case.
